Services

Clare Phillips Consultancy offers a range of services including the development of strategies for the public realm, public art commissions, and creative community consultations.

Strategies for Art and the Public Realm
Tailored public art strategies are developed for individual projects. Creative vision, timeframes, processes, governance and indicative investment being outlined to achieve innovative and inspirational artworks and public spaces.

Alongside bespoke art strategies, contribution to broader cultural plans as part of redevelopment schemes for the public realm is undertaken. Identifying opportunities for artworks to be integrated elements within the fabric of a new development requires early collaboration with the regeneration teams, urban planners and specialist design teams.

Public Art Commissions
Clare Phillips specialises in commissioning site-specific public artworks, collaborating with artists to creatively interpret the heritage and culture of a location. Projects range from permanent artworks, integrated into the architectural fabric, to temporary public art installations and events.

Clare works with a broad range of artists, from individuals with socially engaged practices to artist collectives working across a variety of disciplines, from bespoke lighting to audio artworks. Her approach is to explore, with the client, the scope and aspirations for a project to provide details of artists both previously commissioned and researching new artist practices that meet the clients’ needs. Clare works with emerging artists, at the start of their careers, through to artists with established, high-profile practices. The commissioning service includes the management of projects from inception to completion, the programme for a project being specifically designed for each commission.
